Last reviewed [July 2026]
As a CHAS-accredited dental clinic, TWC Dental is able to accept subsidies under this programme for eligible patients. With the CHAS scheme, you gain access to quality dental treatments at our clinic.
What is a CHAS Card in Dental Care?
A CHAS (Community Health Assistance Scheme) card helps eligible patients receive subsidies for selected dental services. The amount of subsidy depends on your monthly household income per person or the Annual Value of your home.
By offering subsidies, CHAS enables more citizens to access necessary dental services, including routine check-ups, preventive care, and treatments.
CHAS Dental Clinic Locations
CHAS dental subsidies are accepted at various partnered dental clinics across Singapore. If you prefer to receive care from our clinic, we are located strategically in Jurong East and Yishun, offering accessible and quality dental services for eligible CHAS cardholders.
If you want to know more about your eligibility and the treatments covered, you can schedule an appointment at any of our clinics.
Dental Procedures & Subsidies Covered by the CHAS Scheme
From 1 October 2025, MOH requires all CHAS dental clinics to display fee benchmarks prominently alongside their price lists. These benchmarks provide a reference range for each of the 18 covered procedures, helping you understand typical fee levels and how the subsidy applies to your treatment.Â
The coverage under CHAS is broadly categorised into three main types:
- Preventive Care:Â This category focuses on maintaining oral health and preventing dental diseases, covering dental check-ups, as well as scaling and polishing.
- Basic Dental Treatments: These include common dental procedures many individuals require at some point, such as dental fillings and extractions.
- Major Dental Work:Â For more complex dental conditions, CHAS provides subsidies for major dental work, including root canal treatment and dentures.

* The subsidy is a cap, not a full waiver. If the clinic’s charge for a procedure exceeds the subsidy amount, you pay the difference. Subsidy claim limits reset at the start of each calendar year, and unused entitlements do not carry over.
Flexi-MediSave at CHAS Dental Clinics
From mid-2026, Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents aged 60 and above can use Flexi-MediSave to offset up to S$400 per year towards root canal treatment and permanent crowns at CHAS-accredited dental clinics and public healthcare institutions.
Flexi-MediSave works alongside the CHAS subsidy rather than replacing it. The CHAS card subsidy is applied first to reduce the cost of the dental procedure. Any remaining balance can then be offset using Flexi-MediSave, up to the annual limit of S$400.Â
TWC Dental is onboarding Flexi-MediSave as part of its CHAS accreditation.
How to Claim Dental Treatment with the CHAS Subsidy Scheme
Accessing dental treatment through the CHAS subsidy scheme is a straightforward process as follows:
1. Check Your CHAS Eligibility
Make sure you have a valid CHAS card to determine the subsidy tier you’re eligible for dental treatments.
2. Find a CHAS-Accredited Dental Clinic
Look for the CHAS stickers displayed at participating dental clinics. These stickers indicate that the clinic is a part of the CHAS network and is authorised to provide subsidised treatment to eligible cardholders.
3. Schedule an Appointment
Schedule an appointment for a qualifying dental service and let the clinic know you’ll be using your CHAS card.
4. Present Your CHAS Card
On the day of your appointment, when you visit the CHAS clinic for dental treatment, present your valid CHAS, MG, or PG card along with your NRIC. This is essential for the clinic to verify your eligibility for the subsidies.
5. Receive Dental Treatment
Receive the required dental care with the assurance that the CHAS subsidy will be applied to lower the cost.
6. Payment
Clinics like TWC Dental have an automated system that directly deducts the applicable CHAS subsidy from your total bill, so you only need to pay the remaining balance.
CHAS Eligibility and Application
CHAS Eligibility
The benefits of CHAS are tiered according to the household’s monthly income per person or the Annual Value (AV) of the home, as detailed below:
| Criteria | CHAS Green | CHAS Orange | CHAS Blue |
| Household monthly income per person (for households with income) | Above S$2,300 | S$1,501 – S$2,300 | S$1,500 and below |
| Annual Value (AV) of home (for households with no income) | Above S$31,000 | S$21,001 – S$31,000 | S$21,000 and below |
Important Points:
- It’s important to note that CHAS Green cardholders do not receive any CHAS dental subsidies. However, Blue cardholders are eligible for moderate subsidies to support lower-income households, while Orange cardholders can receive subsidies but with exclusions and varying limits.
- Household monthly income per person is calculated by dividing the total gross monthly household income by the number of family members living together. Gross monthly income includes basic employment income, trade/self-employment income, overtime pay, allowances, cash awards, commissions, and bonuses.
- Annual Value refers to the estimated gross annual rent of a property if it were rented out, excluding furnishings and maintenance fees.
- Although all Singapore Citizens are eligible for CHAS, they must submit an application to access CHAS subsidies.
CHAS Application
To apply for CHAS, use the online application process. Singapore Citizens aged 21 and above can apply on behalf of their household members. The application will typically be processed within 15 working days.
If you haven’t received a response, check the status of your application through the CHAS online page by logging in with your Singpass or contact the CHAS hotline at 1800-275-2427 (1800-ASK-CHAS).
Specific Dental Subsidy for CHAS Orange, Blue, MG, PG Cardholders
The subsidies and limits for dental care under CHAS vary by cardholder tier. For instance, CHAS Orange and Blue cardholders receive different subsidy amounts for various dental treatments such as consultations, crowns, dentures, extractions, fillings, scaling and polishing, fluoride treatments, X-rays, and root canal treatments. Similarly, MG and PG cardholders enjoy enhanced subsidies.
To put this into perspective, for partial dentures with fewer than six teeth, Orange cardholders could receive a subsidy of S$202.50, while Blue cardholders might receive S$304.00. Complete dentures for Orange cardholders can be subsidised up to S$272.50, and up to S$408.50 for Blue cardholders. MG and PG cardholders typically receive higher subsidies.
Public Assistance (PA) Scheme for Dental Care
Also referred to as Comcare Long Term Assistance, Public Assistance (PA) cardholders can enjoy specific dental benefits under this scheme:
- Full CHAS Subsidies Without Separate Application: Individuals holding the PA card are automatically eligible for full CHAS subsidies for dental procedures. This benefit is significant as it eliminates the need for PA cardholders to apply separately for CHAS, streamlining access to dental care.
- Coverage for a Range of Dental Treatments: Those with PA cards have access to various dental treatments covered under CHAS.Â
- Applicability of Limits: PA cardholders are still subject to certain limits. These limits could pertain to the number of visits allowed per year or the types of treatments covered.Â
When visiting participating CHAS dental clinics, PA cardholders must present their PA card and NRIC to verify their eligibility for subsidies.

Frequently Asked Questions on CHAS Dental Care Subsidies
How do I know if I'm eligible for CHAS dental subsidies?
To be eligible for CHAS dental subsidies, you need to be a Singapore Citizen with an approved CHAS card. Simply bring your NRIC (and CHAS card if available) to your appointment.
Do I need to make an appointment at a CHAS-approved dental clinic to use my subsidies?
Scheduling an appointment at a CHAS-approved dental clinic is usually recommended so that the clinic can verify your eligibility and plan for your treatment in advance. While walk-ins may be accepted, especially emergency dental visits, an appointment can ensure a more organised visit.
Can I use CHAS subsidies for cosmetic dentistry or orthodontic work?
Cosmetic treatments like dental teeth whitening and veneers are usually not subsidised by CHAS, while orthodontic treatment may be covered in specific cases, depending on medical necessity. Check with a CHAS-approved clinic for confirmation.
How are the CHAS dental subsidies deducted from my bill?
The clinic first calculates your total bill, then automatically deducts the CHAS dental subsidy based on your tier. You only need to pay the remaining balance after the subsidy is applied.
Can I use Flexi-MediSave together with my CHAS subsidy?
Patients aged 60 and above can use both on the same visit at our dental clinic. CHAS card subsidy is applied first to reduce the treatment fee. Flexi-MediSave can then be used to offset the remaining balance, up to S$400 per year, for root canal treatment and permanent crowns.
What happens if I forget to bring my CHAS card to my dental appointment?
If you happen to forget your CHAS card when attending a dental appointment, the clinic can verify your CHAS status online using your NRIC or name. This allows them to confirm your subsidy tier and proceed with your treatment even without the physical card.
What is the Pioneer Generation or Merdeka Generation Package?
These are special CHAS schemes for seniors:
- Pioneer Generation:Â For older Singaporeans who helped build the nation, they receive the highest dental subsidies.
- Merdeka Generation:Â For Singaporeans born between 1950 and 1959, they receive enhanced dental subsidies.
Does the CHAS card cover all dental needs?
The CHAS card offers subsidies for common dental procedures, but it does not cover all dental needs. It provides subsidies for some treatments, such as dentures, cleanings, and tooth fillings, but more complex dental treatments may not be covered by the scheme.
Is there a digital CHAS card?
Both new and existing CHAS cardholders aged 15 and above can automatically access their digital CHAS card through the ‘My Cards’ section in the Singpass app.
Is wisdom tooth extraction covered by CHAS or MediSave?
Simple, non-surgical tooth extractions are covered under the CHAS dental subsidy scheme. Surgical wisdom tooth extraction is not covered by CHAS; it is covered by a MediSave dental claim instead.Â
